  • Over a decade of experience as a Registered Nurse on the Women’s Inpatient Unit and Crisis and Critical Care-7. Jamal specialized in managing trauma, mood disorders, addiction, and comorbidities, excelling in treatment planning and interventions.

• Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA):

  • Provided primary and mental health care for underhoused individuals at the NP-Led Clinic in Oshawa.

• Inner City Health Associates (ICHA):

  • Delivered mobile NP services in Toronto’s homeless shelters and ran the Coordinated Access to Care from Hospital for the Homeless (CATCH-H) clinic at Good Shepherd Ministries.

Jamal recognized significant gaps in Ontario’s mental health care system:

• Limited Access: Overwhelmed family doctors and psychiatrists with lengthy waitlists.

• Cookie-Cutter Treatment: Patients left without individualized care or meaningful solutions.

In response, Jamal founded Virani NP Services Inc. (VNPS.ca) in 2023, a virtual clinic designed to address these systemic challenges. VNPS.ca offers no-waitlist, comprehensive, and high-quality psychiatric care, setting a new standard for mental health services in Ontario. The clinic provides a seamless, innovative approach that prioritizes patient well-being, addressing mental health concerns at a level far beyond traditional primary care.
